How to Adopt

Adoption Process

Thank you for considering adopting a new companion! Adopting a pet is one of the most rewarding things you can do. We take great pride in matching the perfect companion with you and your lifestyle.

Step One: Submit your Application

We ask that you to please fill out the Adoption Application, and email to atailtobetold@gmail.com , so we can get an idea of who you are and the type of companion you prefer. The application asks questions such as: "Do you have a fenced-in yard?" "What is your work schedule like?" and "What type of personality are you looking for in your new best friend?"

Step Two: application Review

Once we receive the application it usually takes 1-2 days to process — we call references and your vet, if you already have an established relationship with one.

Step Three: Finalize Adoption

Once your application has been approved, we will call you to set up a time for you to meet the cat or dog, if you have not already done so. We perform home visits to allow us the opportunity to sit down and discuss any further questions you may have, transfer medical records, introduce your new best friend to their home and sign the adoption contract.

IMPORTANT: If the animal you were interested in adopting does not seem to be a good fit, your application is good for 30 days, after that you will need to resubmit another application if you find you are interested in another one of our animals.

Fees

We must charge adoption fees so that we can ensure you are getting your new companion in the best condition and in good health! We accept cash, check, and Paypal.
